R8A4 (R8A4 Calcifying Pathogen) is a CLASS II calcifying pathogen contained within Centum Laboratories. It causes progressive tissue petrification and eventual organ failure.
Pathology
Stages of Infection
| Stage | Timeframe | Symptoms |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 | ~2–4 seconds | Initial infection. No visible symptoms during incubation. |
| Stage 2 | ~3–4 seconds per limb | Calcification begins from infection point. Skin turns grey as tissue petrifies, spreading to adjacent body parts. |
| Stage 3 | ~60–80 seconds | Full body calcification. Max health increases by 100. Tissue classified as non-flesh. |
| Stage 4 | ~35 seconds after Stage 3 | Rapid health deterioration. Progressive health loss until death. |
Transmission
- Direct contact — touch transmission
- Airborne — coughing every 4–12 seconds
Incubation
- 2–4 seconds initial
- Full calcification: ~60–80 seconds
- Death after calcification: ~35 seconds
Detection Window: 8–16 seconds
Description
The infection spreads from the initial point of contact throughout the body, turning skin grey and petrifying tissue. The temporary health increase during Stage 3 can be misleading, as the rapid deterioration in Stage 4 is invariably fatal without treatment.
Containment
- Standard Bio-Container
