BIZK-96 (Biological Entity Zeyphrik-96) is a CLASS II fungal pathogen contained within Centum Laboratories. It is the oldest known deadly pathogen in the facility's collection, first observed in 1996. The true danger lies in the explosive terminal phase when fungal masses rupture.
Pathology
Stages of Infection
| Stage | Location | Development Time |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 | Calves | ~10 seconds |
| Stage 2 | Thighs | ~10 seconds |
| Stage 3 | Torso | ~10 seconds |
| Stage 4 | Arms | ~10 seconds |
| Stage 5 | Forearms | ~10 seconds |
| Terminal | Full body | ~5 seconds after Stage 5 |
Additional symptoms:
- Tissue classified as non-flesh
- Coughing every 1–6 seconds (highly frequent)
Terminal Phase
Approximately 5 seconds after full fungal coverage, central fungal masses rupture causing an explosive death.
Transmission
- Airborne spores — released via coughing
- On-death fungal rupture — AoE explosion dealing 50 damage within 12 studs, with infection chance for nearby personnel. Armour is degraded by 10 points. Ragdoll and knockback applied.
Incubation
- Growths begin within 1–2 seconds
- Full progression: ~50 seconds across all stages plus ~5 second terminal phase
Detection Window: 1–4 seconds
Containment
- Standard Bio-Container
- Clearance Storage: 2B Vaccine Biostorage 1, Testing Wing Bio Storage
- Bio-Container Colour: Red
- Access Level: AC-2
- Hazmat equipment recommended when handling infected subjects
