BISM-22 is a CLASS I pathogen contained within Centum Laboratories. It is unique among known pathogens for temporarily enhancing the host's physical resilience before causing delayed health deterioration upon cure administration.
Pathology
Symptoms
- Immediate increase of 150 max health upon infection; patient healed to full
- Coughing begins approximately 5 seconds after exposure (8–16 second intervals)
- Deceptively healthy appearance in infected individuals
Transmission
BISM-22 has dual transmission vectors:
- Respiratory — coughing releases infectious particles
- Direct physical contact — touch transmission
Incubation
- Health increase is immediate
- Coughing develops within 5 seconds
Detection Window: 8–16 seconds
Treatment
WARNING: Upon cure administration, patient max health is reduced by 150. If the patient has sustained damage while infected, this reduction may result in immediate death. Medical personnel should ensure the patient is at full health before administering the cure.
The cure has an 80% effectiveness rate. The infection creates a paradox where the cure itself may be lethal if the patient is not carefully managed.
